Launched in 2014, Wisp is a 48m classic sloop that epitomises the style and grace of classic sailing yachts, yet revitalised and modernised to create a supremely comfortable cruising yacht with the ability to indulge in a little ‘gentleman’s racing’.

The interior brief was for a light, airy and calming ambience in which to travel the world – a style the Owner summed up with the word ‘jolly’. Stained oak is contrasted with dark wenge inlays and accented by courageous fabrics and brightly coloured table lamps converted from Murano glass vases. Beautiful handmade carpeting provides the casual charm of Japanese Tatami matting.

The open-plan interior has been designed in layers to gradually reveal itself; upon first viewing each cabin appears resolved yet further exploration reveals ever-increasing spaces until all the layers are peeled back to reveal large cabins.

Working in close collaboration with Hoek Design, Rhoades Young Design were tasked with bringing levels of detailed design to the exterior that is normally reserved for interior decoration, evident in the fine marquetry seen on the boom crutch and the cockpit tables, a testament to the Owner’s commitment to detail.
